Unless The God of my Father – Part 2.
“Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.” (Genesis 31:42) KJV
Do you fear and respect your father?
Will the fear, honor, and respect you have for your father accrue some positives things for you in the sight of the Almighty God?
The Bible commands you to honor and respect your parents.
Ephesians 6:2: “Honor your father and mother”–which is the first commandment with a promise.”
If you respond that your parents did not deserve this or did not bring you up the Bible way, how are you today bringing up your biological children or the children under your influence?
Do your children know your God, or which God have you introduced to them?
Do your children fear and respect you like Jacob did his father.
God came through for Jacob, and his name was changed to Israel
He is a blessing today because he knew the true God and feared and respected his father.
In 2 Kings 2:12, ” Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel! And Elisha saw him no more. Then he took hold of his clothes and tore them apart.”
In the critical historical and spiritual moment of transference of a double portion of power, Elisha drew on his father’s relationship with his master to bring the manifestation to pass.
Do you genuinely have a spiritual father that you can connect with in your moment of need?
Can you boldly talk about God as your father?
Do you respect and fear HIM as a father?
