What Does it Mean to Have a Pure Heart?

What Does it Mean to Have a Pure Heart?
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8) KJV.
We are constantly “speaking” about a pure heart or a clean heart.
I wonder if this is all our Lord Jesus wanted for us when He spoke about the beatitudes.
Is it enough to know that we need to have a pure heart?
Is it enough just to say we have a pure heart?
Jesus wanted us to know that to have a pure heart involves an inner transformation.
The man who has a pure heart no longer tolerates sin in his life.
This is a real challenge for some of us, isn’t it?
Our lives need to be changed by His power.
We need to allow Him to change our lives and clean our hearts.
This is not all.
I think a pure heart involves a certain level of transparency as well.
“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men.”
(2 Cor 3:2) KJV.
People observe our lives.
Are we an excellent testimony to them?
Please, don’t forget:
“Many people will not read a Bible, but you might be the only Bible they ever read.”
Will you allow Jesus to transform your lives and be an excellent testimony to others?
Well, Jesus concludes with:” They shall see God.”
Do you want to see God?
Let Him change your life, clean your heart and be an excellent testimony to the people around you.
What kind of condition is your heart in?
Application for the Christian life:
Have a pure heart.
Not just think but actually do God’s will.
Abandon every form of evil.
Let everybody notice you are an example of Jesus.

Do Not Return To Bondage.

Do Not Return To Bondage.
“And they say one to another, Let us make a captain and let us return into Egypt.” Numbers 14:4(KJV).
After walking with God, experiencing the wonders, He did.
The Israelites still complained.
They started to talk to one another about the “good old days.”
One thing led to the other.
They evaluated the challenges they were facing “now.”
Going forward and advancing in your goals will bring obstacles.
Don’t give up.
Be Ready to sacrificially make the necessary change.
Eventually, they reached a “consensus” and decided to go back to Egypt.
It is sad to mention those people never entered the promised land.
They fell away on the way.
Are you faced with a situation like this today?
Walking with God, experiencing His love, and experiencing hard times?
Do you want to turn back on God?
God has shown you what to do.
Then a friend invites you to do something you should not do.
Saying: “Just this once.”
“Just try it.”
Afterward, it is easy to do it a second time.
We then return to our old habits.
Do you want to achieve your goals?
Do you want to enter the promised land?
Do you want to arrive at God’s Kingdom?
Don’t follow the “popular opinion” to return to your old ways.
Application to the Christian life:
Be careful about wrong advice.
Resist intimidation.
Keep your eye on the goal.
Follow Jesus, Not your friends.

The Tragedy of Laziness.

The Tragedy of Laziness.
“His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed.” (Matthew 25:26) KJV
It is one of the well-known parables in the Bible.
We know the story; we know how it applies to us.
We know that Jesus gave us talents.
He wants us to put them to use in ministry for Him.
Did you ever think about that last servant?
The servant who went and dug the talent in the ground?
This warns us about the tragedy of laziness.
He was described as “wicked and slothful.”
His perception of the giver was wrong and faulty.
He lost big time.
He lost his time.
He went and dug the talent in the ground.
That’s work too.
Its’ time-wasting.
Putting time and energy in the wrong direction.
We all equally have 24 hours.
What are you doing with the time He is giving you?
He lost his purpose.
He hid the talent; our talents are not to be hidden.
We need to use our talents for God’s glory.
He lost his talent.
God gave him a talent, but because he didn’t use it.
God took it from him and gave it to another person.
He lost his reward.
God is looking forward to rewarding those working for Him.
There are rewards for the things God asks you to do.
Can you see it?
What can you say about yourself?
Application to the Christian life:
Appreciate the talents God gave you
Develop them to the full.
You can be twice as talented as when you started.
Talents you don’t use will rot.
Work hard and be strong.

Serve God Only

Serve God Only
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3.(KJV).
Can you say you do not serve any other gods?
What is a god?
In the old testament, we read of many different gods.
Rachel hid the household gods so that her father would not find them.
“Rachel had taken the idols and had put them in her camel’s saddle-bag and was sitting on them. Laban rummaged through the whole tent but found nothing.” Genesis 31:34(GW)
Why did she not ask her father for them before leaving?
Maybe he would have given it to her.
Why was he so determined to get it back?
Unfortunately, she did not make it to her destination.
A hidden god would always hinder you.
A god can be anything of great value to you.
If you love cars, you will spend all your money on cars.
You will do the same if you love dresses, sports, or jewelry.
Watch it if you can not attend fellowship if your team is playing.
You do not hesitate to spend all you have just to enjoy it!!!
You can even borrow money to fund your passion for it.
It has become an addiction.
It creates friction in your family life.
You serve cars, dresses, or jewelry.
It’s so crucial that you start neglecting God.
It has become a god.
If you spend all your money on cars or dresses and do not pay your tithes, the car or dress becomes a god.
What is it that is taking away your love and affection for the Lord?.
Application to the Christian life:
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God.
Do not allow anything to be more important than God.
Leave everything behind and follow Jesus.
Are you serving any other god?

Honor Your Parents.

Honor Your Parents.
“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Exodus 20:12.(KJV).
God gave Ten commandments.
Only one has a promise.
All the others were clear directives.
If you honor your father and mother:
Your days will be long in the land God gives unto you.
Why will God give a promise to only one commandment?
Why did He not give a promise to any other commandment?
To God, this commandment is fundamental.
Honor your parents.
They may not be the best people on earth.
You would not exist if it were not for them.
They gave you the opportunity to live a life that will give you eternal life.
Jesus demonstrated a balanced relationship with His parents.
Without arrogance, He told them of His purpose in life.
Do you want eternal life with God?
Do as He commanded you to do.
Application to the Christian life:
Honor your parents, regardless of who they are.
They are the parents God gave you.
Jesus honored His parents.
Follow Jesus.

Obedience is The Key to Your Miracle.

Obedience is The Key to Your Miracle.
“And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.” (John 5:9) KJV
In John chapter 5, we are introduced to a sick man.
Jesus wanted to heal him.
To heal him, Jesus commanded that he do something.
“Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.” Verse 8.
He was obedient, and he took his bed and walked at Jesus’ command.
What does He call us to do?
He calls us to rise up and walk in an open confession of Him.
Don’t be ashamed to profess your faith.
If we have been truly saved, we will do it.
He calls us to rise up and walk into the baptismal waters.
When you are saved, you are encouraged to do water baptism.
He calls us to rise up and walk in faithful fellowship.
We must be planted in the house of the Lord.
He calls us to rise up and walk in a life of communion with Christ.
You need to grow in Prayers and Bible study.
This is the secret of power and peace in a Christian’s life.
He calls us to rise up and walk as consecrated Christians.
He calls us to rise up and walk as faithful stewards.
He calls us to rise up and walk in a life of service.
He calls us at the end of our life to rise up and walk through the gates of Glory.
Oh, what a day that’s going to be!
He assures you of Eternal life while you live abundantly here on earth.
Whatever Jesus commands you to do, you need to do it.
Are you willing to do what He is asking you to do?
Application for Christian Life:
Stand up, take up your cross and follow Jesus
Let go of entanglements to your faith.
Set your mind on the eternal goal.
