They were turned away… So they went to another village instead

“Jesus passionately determined to leave for Jerusalem and let nothing distract him from fulfilling his mission there, for the time for him to be lifted up was drawing near. So he sent messengers ahead of him as envoys to a village of the Samaritans. But as they approached the village, they were turned away. They would not allow Jesus to enter, for he was on his way to worship in Jerusalem.  When the disciples Jacob and John realized what was happening, they came to Jesus and said, “Lord, if you wanted to, you could command fire to fall down from heaven just like Elijah did and destroy all these wicked people.”  Jesus rebuked them sharply, saying, “Don’t you realize what comes from your hearts when you say that? For the Son of Man did not come to destroy life, but to bring life to the earth.” So they went to another village instead.” Luke 9:51-56 (TPT)
Jesus determined to get to Jerusalem because His Destiny purposed it.
However, the people in a particular village opposed that move.
Some of the disciples wanted to use their “power” to burn the village.
They “actually wanted to show them!!!”
Jesus rebuked them sharply
What opposition are you facing?
How are you handling it?
What is the motive in your heart that is driving your response?
Are you calling down fire to devour them?
Jesus did not copy what Elijah did as the disples suggested.
“When you turn to the right or turn to the left,  you will hear his voice behind you to guide you, saying,  “This is the right path; follow.”
 Isaiah 30:21(TPT)
Ask God for wisdom on what to do when opposition comes on your path.
Jesus was unstoppable, so are you.
Let God guide you step by step in fulfilling your destiny.
