Peter knocked at the door… Peter continued knocking

“And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.  And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.  But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.” Acts 12:13-16 (KJV)

They were praying for Peter, and when God answered their prayers, they did not believe.

People may be telling you that they are praying for you, but when they see the manifestation of answered prayers in your life, they may not believe.

Don’t go away from that place of prayers and fellowship because of the way they are responding to you.

Peter Knocked and continued knocking.

That was the place where Peter was sent to testify and encourage the body of Christ.

Imagine what would have happened if Peter left that place and started strolling all about on the street that night because they did not initially believe in the miracle God has done even though “they were praying for him.”

“It wasn’t an enemy who taunted me. If it was my enemy, filled with pride and hatred, then I could have endured it. I would have just run away. But it was you, my intimate friend—one like a brother to me. It was you, my advisor the companion I walked with and worked with!  We once had sweet fellowship with each other. We worshiped in unity as one, celebrating together with God’s people” Psalm 55:12-14 (TPT)

Sometimes it’s the “friendly fire” that hurts the most.

Don’t just react to what those close to you are doing.

Listen to the Holy Spirit and learn what it is the process HE is taking you through.

Peter knocked at the door. Peter continued knocking
