Is Your God the True God?
“Fearing for their lives, the desperate sailors shouted to their gods for help and threw the cargo overboard to lighten the ship. But all this time Jonah was sound asleep down in the hold. So the captain went down after him. “How can you sleep at a time like this?” he shouted. “Get up and pray to your god! Maybe he will pay attention to us and spare our lives.”Jonah 1:5-6 New Living (NLT)

The challenge with Jonah in this story is that he had God – the True God, but he was not in a right relationship with Him at this moment of crisis.
Today as you are reading this devotional, I want to ask:
Are you at the right place God has asked you to be?
Are you doing the right thing at the right time?
Do you have a genuine relationship with God?
Will you have to tell them stories like Jonah had to do?
Are you in such a relationship with God that you could be like the Lord Jesus Christ and ask the storms to cease immediately, or like Paul in that ship and you could confidently say there will be no loss of life?
Some people have a relationship with God when they wake up in the morning and pray. But as they get into their cars, trains, and buses, they begin to take instructions from the God of the traffic, weather, and the subway system. When they get to their offices the identity of God, they started the day with has faded and they tune in to the God of the office. Their God varies with the different situations they are in for the day.
Jesus Christ said my Father and I are one.
Therefore anywhere, any situation they called upon Him He could link them up with God instantly.
The same with Joseph, Daniel, Peter, and Paul- they provided solutions to the immediate crises around them.
If you are called upon this moment to help out, can you indeed call on God?
Is your God the true God?
