Demas has deserted me for love of this present world

Demas has deserted me for love of this present world
“For Demas has deserted me for love of this present world and has gone to Thessalonica; Crescens [has gone] to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.”
2 Timothy 4:10 (AMPC)
Demas started well.
He was introduced as one of the co-workers of Paul.
“and so does Mark, Aristarchus, Demas,[and Luke, my companions in this ministry.” Philemon 24
Paul tells us, “Luke, the dearly loved physician, and Demas send you greetings.” Colossians 4:14,
What made Demas make a U-turn?
“He loved this present world.”
“For he loves his own life.”
“loves the things of this world so much.”
“Demas, chasing fads, went off.”
The same old strategy that satan used on Eve in the garden of Eden.
Deception.
It confused and deceived Eve to give away the complete wholesome package she already had in God.
Jesus said I have come to give you an abundance of life not only in this world but in the one to come.
What would Demas desert God for?

“For even if you were to gain all the wealth and power of this world with everything it could offer you—at the cost of your own life—what good would that be? And what could be more valuable to you than your own soul?” Matthew 16:26 (TPT)
He fell for the lie and abandoned the ministry.
Don’t be like Demas.
Don’t give up on God.

He is ever faithful.
You that is standing firm look for a Demas around you and encourage them with the truth.
Restore them in love.
Don’t gossip about Demas in prayer points.
Do all you can to win them back to God.
This is not the time to show off that you are a “better Christian.”
