“My friend, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?”

“My friend, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?”
“Just then, someone spoke up from the crowd and said, “Master, you should compel my older brother to divide the family inheritance and give me my fair share!” Jesus answered, “My friend, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?” Speaking to the people, Jesus continued, “Be alert and guard your heart from greed and from always wishing for what you don’t have. For your life can never be measured by the amount of things you possess.” Luke 12:13-15 (TPT)
Are you always into everybody’s matter?
Are you always compelled that you have to be involved?
This “member” of Jesu’s crowd invited Jesus to handle an important matter.
However, Jesus openly declined.
What would you have done?
“He complained to me” is your response
I have to help them out of the situation.
Today you need to ask yourself:
“Who made you a judge or arbiter over the many things you are involved in.”
Good is always preventing us from doing better.
Better hinder us from becoming the Best.
Focus.
Yes, focus only on what God has called you to be.
Don’t get sidetracked into what may appear suitable.
Is it core to your mandate?

Imagine Jesus abandoning His core ministry and “solving members” problems
Preach and teach the undiluted Word God has given you.
Stop getting involved in what may appear inviting.
In the next verse, Jesus warned us about greed.
“Be alert and guard your heart from greed and from always wishing for what you don’t have….”
It is the desire for numbers of members, opportunities, and fame
Recheck yourself today.
What is the actual motive of the things you get involved with?
“The twelve apostles called a meeting of all the believers and told them, “It is not advantageous for us to be pulled away from the word of God to wait on tables.”
Acts 6:2) TPT
Are you serving at the tables?

Jesus Will Appear in Glory.

Jesus Will Appear in Glory.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then ye also appear with him in glory. Col. 3:4. (KJV).
Do you believe Jesus will return?
Do you believe in the Rapture?
Do you realize when He appears in the sky, His children will meet Him there?
Are you indeed a child of God?
That means you will suddenly be in the sky:
Without any help from anything.
How can that be possible?
Jesus when He finished His earthly mission:
Physically ascended to Heaven.
“Jesus led his disciples out to Bethany. He lifted his hands over them and blessed them in his love. While he was still speaking words of love and blessing, he floated off the ground into the sky, ascending into Heaven before their very eyes! And all they could do was worship him. Overwhelmed and ecstatic with joy, they made their way back to Jerusalem. Every day they went to the temple, to praise and worship God” Luke 24:50-53 (TPT)
He will return back the same way.
All eyes will see Him.
Your stay on this earth is temporary.
Don’t allow earthly things to hold you down.
The Rapture will undoubtedly happen.
When is what we do not know.
Is the world having a hold on you ?.
Do All your earthly desires have a hold on you.
Remember the story of Lot’s wife. (Genesis 19:26)
Do you want to meet Jesus in glory?
Live daily ready and prepared to meet Him.
Application to the Christian life:
Subject your own desires to His.
Follow Him Daily.
Trust God.

Seek the things from above.

Seek the things from above.
If ye then risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Col. 3:1. (KJV).
Are you a child of God?
Did You really give your life to Christ?
Have You accepted Him as your Lord and Savior?
If you have, then you are also part of Jesus.
Perhaps you have not.
Invite Him in Today.
Accept Him as your Lord and Savior.
Confess your sins to Him.
Repent of them too.
Ask the Holy Spirit to live in you and be your guide.
You Have the Holy Spirit.
You are now born again.
Your own desires were crucified.
New desires were born.
Daily check that the desires you seek to fulfill are His.
When Jesus was on the earth,
He listened to God.
What the Father Wanted to be done.
His thoughts were about the Kingdom of God.
He only wanted to do the will of His Father.
Can you do that?
What are you thinking of doing today?
Are they the Kingdom’s agenda?
Application to the Christian life:
Submit your life to God.
Let your desires be from above.
Serve God.

Who do You say that You Are?

Who do You say that You Are?

“They answered, “Some are convinced you are John the Baptizer, others say you are Elijah reincarnated, or Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” “But you—who do you say that I am?” Jesus asked. Simon Peter spoke up and said, “You are the Anointed One, the Son of the living God!” Matthew 16:14-16(TPT)
“Who do you say that I am?”
Yes, You.
You have often heard that verse about Jesus’s conversation with his disciples.
You are very familiar with the possibilities of who Jesus could be.
Today the question is about You?
Who are you?
What’s God’s purpose for your life?
Are you doing what you are doing because your Pastor says so?
Are you in that assignment because that is what takes less time to do?
Are you doing what you are doing because that is what your Hero in the faith does?
Possibly the church you attend needs volunteers in a particular department?
Did You declare yourself the title of Bishop, Apostle, Prophet, etc.?
Did God really call You into such an office?
Or You just chose one that will make you famous?
All the suggested names that the disciples mentioned were all men of God.
However, Jesus has his own distinct call and purpose.
Equally, you are not an accident.
Just as God confirmed to Peter who the messiah is
So also, through the Holy Spirit, God can reveal who you are to you.
Jesus stayed in his calling. He does not have to be any of the names mentioned.
When John the Baptist was asked a similar question earlier
“Now, this was John’s testimony when some of the Jewish leaders sent an entourage of priests and temple servants from Jerusalem to interrogate him. “Who are you?” they asked him. John answered them directly, saying, “I am not the Messiah!” Then who are you?” they asked. “Are you Elijah?” “No,” John replied. So they pressed him further, “Are you the prophet Moses said was coming, the one we’re expecting?” “No,” he replied.” John 1:19-21(TPT)
You, too, need to be clear, focused, and direct as to who you are.
Do You Really Know Who You Are?

Wait upon the Lord.

Wait upon the Lord.
I waited patiently for the Lord, and he inclined unto me and heard my cry. Ps. 40:1. (KJV).
It is normal to become impatient when you wait for somebody.
You may even be cross with the person when he takes too long.
Especially if it is to help you with something.
You sometimes begin to get bitter with the person.
What did you say to your friend when he did not help you quickly enough?
God is not our servant.
He does not have to help us.
However, out of His Mercy, He Helps us.
It is not your right to get an answer when you want it.
It is your relationship with Him at all times that counts.
God knows what we need and what to do for us.
He knows what is best.
He has His reasons for doing what He does in the way He does.
In the end, He helps in such a way that we can only be amazed.
Do you want to experience the power of God?
Can you wait patiently for that experience?
Application to the Christian life:
Wait patiently for the Lord to do His will.
Submit to Him
Trust Him.
Praise Him while waiting.

So, watch yourselves.

So, watch yourselves.
“So, watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them, and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” Luke 17:3-4 (NIV)
So, watch yourselves
Take heed to yourselves:
So be careful what you do.
I am warning you!
Pay attention and always be on guard.
Our Lord and Savior admonish us to do two things in our text today.
Rebuke and Forgive.
Look around you today.
What do you see?

In the body of Christ, we do one very well and rarely do the other.
We know very much how to rebuke.
We don’t give the time to listen to how and why it happened.
Opportunity is usually not given to repent.
You don’t want to be hurt twice, you say.
We hardly forgive one another.
Some brethren are specialists in rebuking another believer.
Especially in leadership.
What are you doing to help that believer overcome the weakness?
Our discerning capacity to identify sin in others is excellent.
However, our heart rarely forgives one another.
Can you make a difference?
Can you from today turn around and forgive those who have offended you?
In many cases, we don’t even give a chance for the offense to be repeated.
Once the offense is done, you tongue-lash them.
Then you spread the news to as many brethren as possible.
Worse still, you “prayer gossip” the offense.
Be careful.
God is watching you!!!.
“For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:2(Amp)
Be known for the capacity to love and forgive.
Not just an expert in rebuking and broadcasting other people’s offenses.
Examine Yourself.
