How Do You Pray?

How Do You Pray?
“Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.” Ps 17.1 (KJV).
How do you pray?
Often, we start to pray, then something triggers our mind.
Are you easily distracted?
Even though we keep on praying, our thoughts are elsewhere.
Often, we ask God to help us with a problem:
However, our actions show we do not believe He will help.
Sometimes we just pray out of habit.
How do you feel if you talk to your friend, but your friend does not listen? How do you feel when your friend just talks but does not say anything worthwhile?
When we pray to God, we do not pray to anybody.
We pray to the Almighty God.
Pray uprightly.
Pray with faith.
Ask with sincerity.
Believe God can help.
Pray with Focus.
“Listen to me, Lord. Hear the passionate prayer of this honest man. My cause is just, and my need is real. I’ve done what’s right, and my lips speak truth.” Psalms 17:1 TPT
Are you an honest person?
Are your lips speaking the truth?
Do you want God to hear you?
Do you want God to help you?
Application to the Christian life:
Pray to God with a sincere heart.
Trust God who can and will help you.
Have a pure heart.

Where is your trust?

Where is your trust?
“But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.” Ps5:5. (KJV).
David went through many dark times.
He always trusted God.
He also lived according to God’s commandments.
God would forgive him when he sinned, even after punishment.
David could say he trusted God’s mercy.
He trusted God would help him.
He trusted God to guide him.
David could also say he would rejoice in God’s salvation.
He would rejoice when God saved him.
He rejoiced with every assurance from God.
What challenges are you facing now?
Do you trust in God’s mercy?
Do you know He will save and protect you?
“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7(KJV)
Where are you putting your trust?
Application to the Christian life:
Put your trust in God.
Live for Jesus and follow Him.
Jesus gave His life for you.

Be Wise.

Be Wise.
“Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” Proverbs 20:1(KJV).
People often say they drink to relax.
“The days are so stressful.
There are so many worries.”
They drink to forget.
What a mockery.
The drink fools you to think you relax.
You do not really.
Alcohol is a sedative and has the effect of relaxing:
However, it interferes with your sleep patterns.
After a while when you get addicted.
It begins gradual damage to your health.
When you do not sleep well, you will have more trouble tomorrow.
It also interferes with your way of thinking.
You may make wrong decisions, resulting in more problems.
You may wake up with a headache making you a difficult person.
You may be poorer after the drink, which results in more worries.
Be wise.
Don’t be deceived.
Put your trust in God.
He will help you.
Application to the Christian life:
Put your trust in God, not in men or addiction.
Experience the extraordinary life He can give you.

Where is your defense?

Where is your defense?
“My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.” Ps7:10. (KJV).
“My shield is God above, who saves those whose motives are decent.” (GW)
“God, your wraparound presence is my shield. You bring victory to all who are pure in heart.” (TPT)
How often did you ask a friend to help you?
Who is really there to shield and protect you?
How often did that friend help you?
“In your entire life:
You can probably count your true friends on one hand.
Maybe even on one finger.
Those are the friends you need to cherish.”
True friends are rare.
Even when a friend would like to help you:
Your friend may not have the means to do so.
David experienced God’s protection through his life.
Everything worked according to God’s plan.
Nobody, not even Satan, can change God’s plan.
David could say God is his defense.
David also said God saves the upright in heart.
Do you want God to be your defense?
Do you want God to save you?
What are your true motives?
God not only knows, but HE sees your inner thoughts.
Check your thoughts when asking Him to help you.
Application to the Christian life:
Let your heart be upright.
Let God be your defense.
Trust God.
He is your true Shield.

About The Confession of Sins.

About The Confession of Sins.
“When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night, thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord and; thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.” Psalm 32:3-5( KJV)
An essential aspect of the Christian life is confessing your sins to God. You cannot become a Christian if you don’t confess your sins.
Why is the confession of sins so important?
The confession of sins will allow you to experience God’s forgiveness. After he confessed his sins to God, David said that God forgave him.
The confession of sins will restore your emotional and physical strength. Please, don’t forget this:
Nothing will exhaust you more than the denial that you are a sinner
Nothing will reinvigorate you more than a forgiven life.
The confession of sins will help you to move forward.
On the Christian path, you have to move forward.
Unconfessed sins will prevent you from moving forward.
Confessing your sins will help you to grow.
Your sin will stop you from growing.
Your sins are stopping you from becoming more like Jesus.
If you want to become more like Jesus and experience spiritual growth, you need to confess your sins.
“If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.” 1 JOHN 1:10 (KJV)
Once you miss it, don’t hide your sin.
Promptly confess, repent and draw upon His Grace.
The Grace of God enables you to live Victoriously.
Thomas Edison once said that: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10000 ways that won’t work.”
Allow the Holy Spirit to perfect you daily.
Application for the Christian life:
Recognize and confess your sins.
Experience God’s forgiveness.
Daily Grow in His Love and Grace.

Is God with You?

Is God with You?
“Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: Thy blessings is upon the people.” Ps.3:8(KJV).
In Psalm 3, you will notice some people told David God will not save him from his enemies.
However, his experience was different.
Do you have friends telling you God will not help you?
He went through many difficult times in his life.
Times he had to flee for his life.
Times when even his own son attempted to kill him.

David remained faithful to God.
He kept on serving God with a whole heart.
That does not mean David did not sin.
He was not a perfect man.
God had to send the prophet to David:
Telling him how much he sinned against God.
But he repented. David improved his life.

He did not listen to those telling him God would not help him.
He was described as a man after God’s own heart. (1 Sam. 13:14)
David was a beloved of God.
Do you want to be beloved by God?
Application to the Christian life:
Repent and submit to God.
Resist poor advice.
Follow God’s own heart too.
