Hid in Mine Heart.
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalm 119: 11 (KJV)
“What’s in your wallet?”
This is one of the phrases used for advertising credit cards.
They are marketing the concept that you can purchase anything you want with some advantages over other brands once you have that card.
Today, the Real question is, what’s really in your heart?
Preacher, you just asked me what my thought life is like…?
Why are you asking me what is in my heart?
The truth is that the contents of your heart determine the outcome of your thought patterns, which then determine the choices you make in life. The key to having a successful relationship with God and not sinning against Him is ensuring that the Word of God is dominant in your heart.
From your heart come the issues of life.
(Proverbs 4:23) KJV
Thank God for technology that makes it very easy for you to hear the Word of God in the most convenient form to you anywhere and anytime. Resolve to take your fill of the Word each day. Especially relating to the God-given assignments that you have.
The Word of God available in your heart determines. How far you will go in God.
Head or mental knowledge of the scriptures is not the same.
Allow it to stay in your heart.
You can only achieve this through meditation and complete dedication.
The Word of God in your heart will not only help you to live a holy life that is pleasing to God but ultimately delivers you and causes you to become prosperous in life.
Make a concrete decision to store the Word of God in your heart which will catapult you into fulfilling your God-given destiny.
Spend some time today checking what is in your heart.
Application for the Christian life:
Keep God’s Word in your heart.
Listen and obey that Word.

The Blessing of Giving.
“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-8( KJV)
It’s better to give than to receive.
This is shocking for those who are looking only for personal gain.
The Christian values are different.
We need to know that we are not our own.
We are God’s property.
Everything we own doesn’t belong to us.
It belongs to Jesus.
We are His property because He redeemed us with His blood.
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime, and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22(KJV)
You harvest only what you sow.
Not something else.
What do we need to give?
Give our bodies as a willing sacrifice to the Lord…
We need to be involved in the ministry of God.
We have to love others:
“The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
(Romans 5:5) KJV
We need to give from our possessions.
We need to give our time for His given assignments.
Including Prayers.
Jesus asked Peter in the garden of Gethsemane:
“Couldest not thou watch one hour?”
(Mark 14:37 KJV)

Keep the commandment of God.
“And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel forever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.” 1 Sam. 13:13-14.(KJV).
God commanded Saul to bring an offering, but Saul had to wait for Samuel.
Samuel did not arrive on time.
The people became impatient and started to leave the gathering.
Saul also became anxious, and he offered the burnt offering.
Saul made two mistakes.
He became anxious.
He made the offering.
Are you making the same mistakes today?
Why did he become anxious?
The people started to leave the gathering.
He felt he had to do something.
What should he have done?
He should have trusted God.
He should have been patient.
He should have spoken to the people.
Encouraged them to trust and to wait.
He lost his kingdom!
What do you do when your friends tell you God does not exist?
Maybe God will not fulfill His promises.
Do you get impatient with God?
HE is not responding?
Watch out.
You may miss out on God with your impatience.
Don’t act to please people.
Application to the Christian life:
Trust God and be patient.
Resist your friends’ intimidation.
Be like Jesus and follow Him.

The Ants.
“The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer.” (Proverbs 30:25) KJV
Did you know that we can learn amazing things from ants?
The message of the ants is this:
“prepare yourself!”
The ants are preparing for winter time when it’s still summer because:
Their look is fixed on the future.
You cannot go back to the past, but your past can destroy you if you are not careful.
The summer of the opportunities will pass, and the winter will come.
The ant is gathering provisions for… now?
No!
The ant is gathering provisions for winter!
The ant’s cause is bigger than her.
Have you ever looked at an ant that is carrying something?
You can see an ant with some crumbs of bread three times bigger than her, and still, she carries it to the place she needs to go.
Let us learn today from the ants! Remember the words of Jesus?
Remember the parable of Jesus about those ten virgins?
Five of them woke up to reality too late.
They were not prepared for the big event which was taking place:
The wedding!
They were working without waiting for anything in exchange.
It appears there was no immediate gain.
If you are not patient to wait, you will miss what God had planned for you.
Work for the future.
Gather enough strength to carry you through the dark times.
Work until Jesus returns.
The Five Wise Virgins thought and planned ahead.
They had enough oil in their lamp to last the wait.

Afterward, he repented.
” But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward, he repented and went. And he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them, twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you”.
Matthew 21:28-31(KJV)
How often did you promise to do something?
Then you did not do as you have promised?
Or, in another scenario, you promised you would not.
Afterward, you did.
How many times did you promise God you would not sin again, but you still do.
God does not condemn you.
Rather through the Holy Spirit, HE enables you.
Often it is easy to promise.
However, it is not easy to keep the promise.
Don’t look down on others.
Do not make promises to God that you will not keep. Instead, ask Him to help you do what you should.
When you miss it.
Genuinely repent.
He will give you another chance.
Application to the Christian life:
Do not make idle promises to God.
Be honest.
Ask His help.
Trust Him.
