“And if anyone doesn’t listen to you and rejects your message when you leave that house or town, shake the dust off your feet as a prophetic act that you will not take their defilement with you” Matthew 10:14 (TPT)
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ clearly told the disciples when He was sending them out for the first time to preach the Good News of the kingdom that they will meet people who will not only not listen to them but will also reject their message.
However, the disciples should not be discouraged by this none acceptance of the message and shake it off like dust from their feet.
Today some of us cling to that rejection of the message and allow it to serve s discouragement in preaching the gospel to other people.
Remember when you meet with people who not only challenge your message and literarily defile you don’t give up on spreading the Good News to other people.
In what way and manner have you felt offended because people reject you?
“When you knock on a door, be courteous in your greeting. If they welcome you, be gentle in your conversation. If they don’t welcome you, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way. You can be sure that on Judgment Day they’ll be mighty sorry—but it’s no concern of yours now.” Matthew 10:14-15 (MSG)
When you share the message of the Kingdom, and they accept the message Praise God for that move on.
However when the message is rejected don’t turn their rejection into a “message” to the next people God will send you to, leave them and their rejection of the Gospel for God to sort out.
Don’t linger there and be exacerbated by their degradation.
Keep on sharing the Good News as the Lord Jesus instructed.
“And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.” Luke 11:2 (KJV)
It is about Hallowing God and not Halloween
God created us in His image and everything we do as His creation must Glorify Him.
Hallowing God means to “ 1. to make holy; sanctify; consecrate: to hallow the name of the Lord. 2. to honor as holy; consider sacred; venerate: to hallow a battlefield.” (Free Dictionary Definition)
Today let everything you do give reverence to God and not the opposite.
Light and darkness do not and cannot mix together.
There is no Christian way to celebrate Halloween.
It’s not of God.
Its origin and practice have consistently been satanic and evil.
As a child of God use every opportunity you have by your ways and manner Glorify God that has given you life.
“Pray like this: ‘Our Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn.” Matthew 6:9 (TPT)
Let God be the real anchor that holds your life together and not any satanically inspired event no matter how famous, popular and captivating it might be.
God says He has come to give you life and that abundantly.
Celebrate Him with joy and gladness and don’t participate in evil scary costumes and certainly don’t evilly dress your children.
God condemns every form of participating in witchcraft (Deuteronomy 18:10-13
Don’t mix up your values; don’t mess up your values.
Halloween is not of God
“For this reason, “Come out from among them and be separate,” says the Lord. “Touch nothing that is unclean, and I will embrace you” 2 Corinthians 6:17 (TPT)
Don’t trick or treat. Show consistently true love from God.
“My times are in Your hands; deliver me from the hands of my foes and those who pursue me and persecute me.” Psalm 31:15 (AMPC)
Did you look at your watch? Or look at the calendar?
That’s what most of us do when we’re asked what’s the time ?.
We are all familiar with chronological time. This is time measured on our watches and our calendars. Chronological time is linear: past, present, and future. It is one-way time. We cannot go back in time, except in the movies. The present is always before us, sometimes tantalizingly uncertain.
The Bible uses the word Chronos for this kind of time.
The Bible is a book about chronological time, but it also speaks of another kind of time,
Kairos time.
Jesus on one occasion said His time had not come. (John 7:6)
The Gospels refer to the fullness of time. Kairos time has to do with fulfilling and completing.
This is God’s view of time, and it is different from ours.
God is concerned for the time you are ready for Him
Or the time at which the meaning of His assignment for your life can be understood, or when His Word gives you adequate knowledge about your identity and destiny.
Revelation!!!
God’s time takes place against the backdrop of eternity.
Kairos time is God’s time, not ours.
Watches are not ideal for telling this kind of time.
What is your time in God’s timing?
Where are you in the program of God for your purposeful life?
Today can you say as David said in our text
“My life, my every moment, my destiny—
It’s all in your hands. So I know you can deliver me
from those who persecute me relentlessly.” Psalm 31:15 The (TPT)
If you don’t know your Time and Purpose, you might be sitting, wining and dining with the enemy
“They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.” Matthew 25:1-13 (KJV)
What race of life are you running?
Do you appear prepared or are you really ready?
Are you just putting up motions or are you really in the life’s assignment for your purposeful life?
The five foolish virgins thought they were heading for the same goal like their other five wise counterparts, but they allowed procrastination and assumptions to kill their destiny.
Do what you need to do today, don’t put off what should be done today for tomorrow.
Others always help?
Have you really asked them for help or you are assuming that because you hang out with them, they will really help you in your hour of need?
Don’t just mouth and mentally note the parable of the five foolish virgins
Examine yourself.
“Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?” 2 Corinthians 13:5(AMPC)
Don’t just be full of activities make sure you know the required dimensions of your calling.
“May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;” Ephesians 3:18 (KJV)
The five foolish virgins did not honestly know
The Breadth
The Length
The Depth
The Height
Of their purpose in life.
Do You?
It’s not too late to change and get oil in your lamp today and be daily ready for your purposeful life.
“Teaching them the decrees and laws, showing them the way they must walk and the work they must do.” Exodus 18:20 (AMPC)
The work they must do?
Does a relationship with God requires work?
Yes.
You must work to sustain and continuously maintain your relationship with God.
Jethro Moses’s father-in-law in giving the counsel above enumerated that every child of God has the doing part they must do in oiling their relationship with God.
Christianity is not just faith it and claim it, it requires work.
Many are only taught today that all you need to do is just pray and believe God for miracles.
Great. Prayers and Faith are essential ingredients, but there is still the work you have to do.
However, the works you have to do are “not hard labor work,”
There are always practical steps you have to take on your side as God does his own side of the bargain.
“What is the use (profit), my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith if he has no [good] works [to show for it]? Can [such] faith save [his soul]?” James 2:14 AMPC)
Apostle Paul clearly states that your work and faith should be evident.
“But someone might object and say, “One person has faith, and another person has worked.” Go ahead then and prove to me that you have faith without works and I will show you faith by my works as proof that I believe.” James 2:18 (TPT)
As you lay claim to the promises of God and confess them, please find out also what is required of you to bring your dreams to reality successfully.
“True love for God means obeying his commands, and his commands don’t weigh us down as heavy burdens.” 1 John 5:3 (TPT)
Relationship with God requires your own work to do.
A lazy person cannot enjoy a good relationship with God.
Indeed Jesus paid it all with His life, but it is delivered to you with your willing and joyful, active participation.
What to do?
“…..Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”Philippians 2:12 (KJV)
