Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid

“Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me. My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear. So the wall was finished …….” Nehemiah 6:12-15

Don’t allow anybody to cause you to be afraid.

Don’t allow any situation or circumstances to speak fear into you.

The age-long strategy of the enemy to cause your defeat is to get fear into you.

Please reject fear in any shape and form

Nehemiah in the above scriptures was entirely in the will of God carrying out his given assignment, and the opposition came to cause him to fear.

Note that fear not only has the tendency to paralyze the work but it also can cause you to sin.

“He was hired that I should be made afraid and do as he said and sin,”

Nehemiah focused on what God has told him to do and refused to be distracted.

Set your eyes only on what God has given you to do and be not afraid.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Nehemiah was unstoppable.

He completed his assignment.

You are unstoppable too.

You will complete your assignment.

Don’t be afraid.

“Don’t repeat their mistakes”

“These are all warning markers—danger! —In our history books, written down so that we don’t repeat their mistakes. Our positions in the story are parallel—they at the beginning, we at the end—and we are just as capable of messing it up as they were. Don’t be so naive...
