The kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Proverbs 27:6 (KJV)

The kiss from Judas is often the most used as an example of great deception. Judas had bargained with 30 pieces of silver to betray Jesus’s Christ and the sign he gave the Roman soldiers who had difficulty in actuality identifying who our Lord Jesus was among the disciples was a kiss.

The Judas of today is still betraying you but do you know your betrayer and what ransom he has taken from your enemy and the consequences on your destiny?

Jesus knew what role Judas was going to play in his Purposeful life and He followed God’s plan for his life.

Does it mean you should allow your enemy to betray you and you do nothing?

From our text today True friends will tell you the blunt truth that will sometimes hurt your feelings and sometimes painfully get you out of self-ego trip you that you are deceiving yourself. It may appear that they have just hurt your feelings.

However, today’s betrayer will tell all that you want to hear and will not lovingly confront you when you are wrong. Once they are away from you, they say to everyone that cares your weaknesses.

Who are you surrounding yourself with on your board, team and close friends?

Regarding your Spiritual growth, do you know the types of TV programs you are watching?

Messages and preachers that are telling you the truth but you still choose to listen to those that will always say you are okay even when you know you are playing with sin.

You feel comfortable with putting one leg in the Church and the other leg in the world.

Flattery and self-deceit will cut short your destiny.

Examine yourself today and be true to yourself.

Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are lavish and deceitful.

Let the truth of the Word of God always be your guide. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11(KJV)
