Faith with works…applying wisdom?

by | Sep 27, 2017

“I can already hear one of you agreeing by saying, “Sounds good. You take care of the faith department, I’ll handle the works department.”
Not so fast. You can no more show me your works apart from your faith than I can show you my faith apart from my works. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in glove.”James 2:18

It was almost getting to the lunch hour on this particular day and suddenly the bright sunny weather became cloudy and from our view through the windows it’s about to rain.
“No we decree that no rain will fall this afternoon… amen chorused the brethren that we were discussing together.
We all agreed that no rain until our work is done for the day.  “So be it in Jesus name ” and everybody in group again said amen.
Few minutes after I noticed one of the brethren we just prayed and agreed together was stepping out and had a beautiful big umbrella in hand. I was baffled so I asked the question did we not all agree no rain ? And if you agreed and said Amen why are you going out with an umbrella?
The response was “you have to use wisdom these days even when you have agreed together in prayers”
This set me thinking about putting faith to work in the prayers or confessions and the declarations we make.
When do we really use our faith for instance not going out with the umbrella if you really believe that God has answered your prayers?
It was praying about the rain in above incident.
What have you really prayed for and rather standing by your faith and prayers you are using “wisdom” to handle the manifestation?
” The apostles came up and said to the Master, “Give us more faith.” But the Master said, “You don’t need more faith. There is no ‘more’ or ‘less’ in faith. If you have a bare kernel of faith, say the size of a poppy seed, you could say to this sycamore tree, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it would do it.” Luke 17:5-6
Let’s check what we really believe and stand by our confession and if you don’t have the required  faith pray for increase in faith so that gradually your words and works can match.
