Antidotes For Discouragement

Antidotes For Discouragement
“And he said, I have been very jealous of the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.” 1 Kings 19:10 (KJV).
Elijah heard from God and carried out the instructions.
He submitted his life entirely to God.
He honored God.
However, he felt he was all alone !!!
There was a threat from Jezebel, and he wanted to quit
Are you being threatened now?
Do you experience the same situation?
Did you tell your friends about God?
Do you tell your friends about Jesus?
What do they do?
Do they believe you?
Do they laugh at you?
What is your Daily Experience?
Are your friends more successful than you?
Are they happier?
Sometimes we do not understand the ways of God.
God does not ask us to understand His way.
He wants us to walk the way.
Trust Him to help you.
He knows and understands the way.
He helped all His servants in the Bible.
He fulfilled all His promises.
He is watching you.
He cares about you.
He will help you.
You will have a glorious end.

Where do you spend your time?

Where do you spend your time?
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Ps1:1-2. (KJV).
Who are your friends?
There are two sayings:
“Show me your friends, and I know who you are.”
“Surround yourself with those that can uplift you.”
When you spend time hanging out with the wrong crowd, you do the same evil things.
Most likely, they will not listen to you if you prefer to instruct them to act differently.
Eventually:
They will cast you out of the group.
Surround yourself with those following Jesus
They will encourage and help you when you need them.
Who do you want to be your friends?
Really who are your friends?
Choose your friends wisely.
Application to the Christian life:
Submit your life to God.
Follow Jesus.
Allow the Holy Spirit to fill your life.

God’s Kingdom.

God’s Kingdom.
“But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.” Job 5:15. (KJV).
Jesus came to seek the lost.
Whether rich or poor.
Whether lonely or surrounded by people.
Every living soul needs an encounter with the Lord.
Especially the poor.
As Kingdom Representative here:
Do you speak for the poor and the oppressed?
Don’t regard someone as “too bad” to be saved
Ask God for wisdom to reach them.
Equally, don’t assume that someone is already saved.
Ask the Holy Spirit for the witness in your heart.
What type of fruit is the person producing?
Are you prepared to tell your friends about God?
Are you prepared to be His servant in His Kingdom?
In your God Given dominion:
Speak for the oppressed and the poor.
Let God depend on you to reach someone today.
“Then he commissioned them to proclaim God’s kingdom and to heal the sick to demonstrate that the kingdom had arrived. As he sent them out, he gave them these instructions”. Luke 9:2 (TPT)
Tell at least one person today about His Kingdom.

The Truth

The Truth
“And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the words of the Lord in thy mouth is Truth.” 1 Kings 17:24.(KJV).
The son of the widow that Elijah was staying with died.
Elijah told the widow not to worry and to give him her dead son.
Elijah talked with God, and he prayed.
He stretched himself over the dead body, bringing the son back to life.
Then the widow believed Elijah to be a servant of God.
Are you a servant of God?
Are there Godly credible things for people to see in you?
Can someone confirm that the Word of the Lord in your mouth is the Truth?.
What do you tell your friends?
Can they also say: “the words in your mouth are the truth?”
Do you still tell a ‘white lie’?
Is it easy?
Did I hear you say the lie will not damage anybody?
It is still a lie.
“You are the offspring of your father, the devil, and you serve your father very well, passionately carrying out his desires. He’s been a murderer right from the start! He never stood with the Truth, for he’s full of nothing but lies—lying is his native tongue. He is a master of deception and the father of lies!” John 8:44 (TPT)
Is lying your default mode?
God knows what you are doing.
Be honest.
Application to the Christian life:
Trust God.
Repent.
Be humble.
Follow Jesus, not yourself.

Elijah did as the Lord told him.

Elijah did as the Lord told him.
“So Elijah did as the Lord told him and camped beside Kerith Brook, east of the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he drank from the brook.” 1Kings 17:5-6(KJV)
“For thus saith, the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.”
1 Kings 17:14.(KJV).
So he went and acted according to the Word of Adonai.
Elijah left and did what the Lord’s Word had told him.
The Ravens kept bringing food to Elijah on schedule.
In obedience, the widow made something for the prophet to eat.
In that season of Elijah’s life, God showed up.
Are you experiencing a drought?
Does it seem like you getting to the end?
Is everything falling apart?
Trust God to help you.
Even though things may appear complicated.
Remember that God knew in advance:
Who You Are
Where You Are
What you need.
He has already planned the solution.
You may not understand what HE is doing now.
Wait on Him for His Word.
Elijah acted upon the Word.
You, too, need His Word.
Application to the Christian life:
Trust God in everything.
Be obedient.
Get the Word.
Follow Jesus.

Who Speaks Into Your Life?

Who Speaks Into Your Life?
“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this day thy so great a people.” 1 Kings 3:9.(KJV).
Solomon received an understanding heart as well as great wisdom.
He made the best decisions and was a good king for the Israelites for a while.
Then something happened.
He became wealthy and married women from other nations.
His judgment became blurred.
He was not loyal to God anymore.
He served other gods.
It did not help Solomon to be wise because he listened to others.
“For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David, his father.” 1Kings 11:4 (KJV)
He could not resist the devil anymore.
What do you do with your knowledge?
Do you also listen to your friends?
Are they encouraging your relationship with God?
Are You Making The Right Decisions With their Input?
