But Amnon had a friend

But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man. 1 Samuel 13:3 (KJV)

What kind of friend do you have that consistently speak into your life?

Amnon one of King David’s sons had a “bestie” who was exceptionally streetwise. He confided in him he gave him a counsel that initially appeared smart, but at the end, it led to his death.

Watch out today that you are not surrounding yourself with people that appear popular and very sociable but their counsel for you may lead to your destruction.

Don’t fall into the peer pressure of hanging out with people that will give you counsel that will kill your God-given dreams.

“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” Proverbs 13:20

Check out the antecedents of who speaks into your life.

Who are those who get your ear’s attention?

“So stop fooling yourselves! Evil companions will corrupt good morals and character “ 1 Corinthians 15:33 (TPT)

Watch out for the Jonadab around you and never take their counsel

“ How well God must like you-you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon, you don’t slink along Dead-End Road. You don’t go to Smart-Mouth College.” Psalm 1:1 (MSG)

Look for friends like Ruth to Naomi, Jonathan to David and Paul to Philemon.

What type of friend is speaking into your life today?
