Serve God Only

Serve God Only
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3.(KJV).
Can you say you do not serve any other gods?
What is a god?
In the old testament, we read of many different gods.
Rachel hid the household gods so that her father would not find them.
“Rachel had taken the idols and had put them in her camel’s saddle-bag and was sitting on them. Laban rummaged through the whole tent but found nothing.” Genesis 31:34(GW)
Why did she not ask her father for them before leaving?
Maybe he would have given it to her.
Why was he so determined to get it back?
Unfortunately, she did not make it to her destination.
A hidden god would always hinder you.
A god can be anything of great value to you.
If you love cars, you will spend all your money on cars.
You will do the same if you love dresses, sports, or jewelry.
Watch it if you can not attend fellowship if your team is playing.
You do not hesitate to spend all you have just to enjoy it!!!
You can even borrow money to fund your passion for it.
It has become an addiction.
It creates friction in your family life.
You serve cars, dresses, or jewelry.
It’s so crucial that you start neglecting God.
It has become a god.
If you spend all your money on cars or dresses and do not pay your tithes, the car or dress becomes a god.
What is it that is taking away your love and affection for the Lord?.
Application to the Christian life:
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God.
Do not allow anything to be more important than God.
Leave everything behind and follow Jesus.
Are you serving any other god?

Honor Your Parents.

Honor Your Parents.
“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Exodus 20:12.(KJV).
God gave Ten commandments.
Only one has a promise.
All the others were clear directives.
If you honor your father and mother:
Your days will be long in the land God gives unto you.
Why will God give a promise to only one commandment?
Why did He not give a promise to any other commandment?
To God, this commandment is fundamental.
Honor your parents.
They may not be the best people on earth.
You would not exist if it were not for them.
They gave you the opportunity to live a life that will give you eternal life.
Jesus demonstrated a balanced relationship with His parents.
Without arrogance, He told them of His purpose in life.
Do you want eternal life with God?
Do as He commanded you to do.
Application to the Christian life:
Honor your parents, regardless of who they are.
They are the parents God gave you.
Jesus honored His parents.
Follow Jesus.

Obedience is The Key to Your Miracle.

Obedience is The Key to Your Miracle.
“And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.” (John 5:9) KJV
In John chapter 5, we are introduced to a sick man.
Jesus wanted to heal him.
To heal him, Jesus commanded that he do something.
“Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.” Verse 8.
He was obedient, and he took his bed and walked at Jesus’ command.
What does He call us to do?
He calls us to rise up and walk in an open confession of Him.
Don’t be ashamed to profess your faith.
If we have been truly saved, we will do it.
He calls us to rise up and walk into the baptismal waters.
When you are saved, you are encouraged to do water baptism.
He calls us to rise up and walk in faithful fellowship.
We must be planted in the house of the Lord.
He calls us to rise up and walk in a life of communion with Christ.
You need to grow in Prayers and Bible study.
This is the secret of power and peace in a Christian’s life.
He calls us to rise up and walk as consecrated Christians.
He calls us to rise up and walk as faithful stewards.
He calls us to rise up and walk in a life of service.
He calls us at the end of our life to rise up and walk through the gates of Glory.
Oh, what a day that’s going to be!
He assures you of Eternal life while you live abundantly here on earth.
Whatever Jesus commands you to do, you need to do it.
Are you willing to do what He is asking you to do?
Application for Christian Life:
Stand up, take up your cross and follow Jesus
Let go of entanglements to your faith.
Set your mind on the eternal goal.

Learning From The Rich Young Ruler.

Learning From The Rich Young Ruler.
“And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” (Mark 10:17) KJV
What did this rich young ruler have?
He had health.
Many people think that money is everything, but they are wrong.
Many rich people in this world are not happy.
He had morality.
He could say about himself that he lived a clean life all of his days.
It is okay if you can say that:
However, your morality, your personal best, will not save you.
He had youth.
Oh, what a premium we put on youth today!
A church doesn’t want to call a man over fifty years of age-old.
The world of business demands young and vigorous men.
He had social rank.
Oh, what some of our people will do to rise up in the social world!
Some of them will give up their service to the Lord.
Turn their backs upon the church, neglect their families, spend money they don’t have just to gain some social recognition.
He had a form of religion.
He fasted and tithed and went through all the forms of religion, but this did not satisfy his inner hunger.
This religion will leave you cold unless Christ is in your heart.
He had good sense.
He came to Jesus at the right time, when he was young.
He had the right spirit, the spirit of humility.
He came and knelt before Jesus.
He came seeking the right thing, eternal life.
He came to the right place.
What went wrong?
Jesus wanted his heart, and he wasn’t willing to offer Jesus his heart.
Is your heart 100% surrendered to Jesus?
Application to the Christian life:
Be like Jesus, who fulfilled the will of His Father at a young age.
Do the will of your Father with a pure heart all your life.

Pray for a Suitable Soulmate.

Pray for a Suitable Soulmate.
“And he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.”
Gen. 24:12(KJV).
Abraham sent his servant to find a suitable wife for his son Isaac.
The woman should be from his family.
The servant was concerned and had no idea who it would be.
He prayed to God for help.
God answered him.
The Almighty God who created you has someone for you.
Yes, in the original blueprint of your life.
Don’t leave it to chances and random selection.
God instituted marriage, and He still answers questions concerning it.
Where will you find your soulmate?
Will you choose someone following the Lord?
Must your soulmate be part of your spiritual family?
Do you look for a beautiful girl or a strong, handsome man?
Must the person of your choice be wealthy?
