And Joseph and his mother marvelled…
“And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;.”
Luke 2:22 (KJV)
“And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.”
Luke 2:33 KJV
Yes, It was Father’s Day.
Just Yesterday.
Pastor, You did not send out a message to the Fathers?
But Why?
It is always challenging to coin or package the work of parenting to either of them alone.
God, in the beginning, created Man.
From him, he made Eve.
To both, He gave them the assignment to Dominate and Multiply.
We thank God for the Fathers
We Praise God for the Mothers.
One of them alone cannot get the job done.
When the Angel first visited Mary, she communicated what she encountered to Joseph, his fiancé.
When Joseph thought of abandoning the relationship, God spoke to him in a dream.
Both got the message.
It’s a joint assignment.
Joseph and his mother jointly took the child Jesus for dedication.
They were both available to listen and keep their child’s destiny in their hearts.
“And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover.” Luke 2:39-41 KJV
Many love to quote and confess that the child grew and waxed strong….
It is predicated and embedded in the fact that both father and mother were present in that child’s life.
As we commend the fathers on Father’s day, let us use it as an opportunity to communicate it again and again, both father and mother are required.
