A Christian Home.

“Be ye, therefore, followers of God, as dear children;  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;  Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.” (Ephesians 5:1-4) KJV

To be able to experience God’s ideal in our marriage while here on earth, there are specific basic requirements we need to fulfill.

First, there must be reciprocal love as Christ loves the church, and wives must submit as the church is to provide to Christ. When this process is reciprocal and mutual, it leads to a more profound love and deeper respect. Deterioration in a relationship between couples happens when one partner is selfish, and the other unselfish, or one partner is always receiving.                                                   Second, there must be communication. Couples must create time to discuss together and plan together. We must not be too busy to share our fears and problems collectively and pray over them. Every area of the family, career, education, the children, etc. must be discussed and agreed upon. Also, there must be openness and faithfulness. Nothing amongst couples should be done in secret. Everything about our business, bank accounts, etc. must be to the knowledge of both partners. There must be faithfulness to each other in all matters.

Finally, as a family, there must be time to read the word of God together and pray. Family devotion and worship must be included in the life of the family. It is a common saying that a family that prays together stays together.
