Watch And Pray

by | Sep 21, 2018

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)KJV

Through prayer, the resources of God are put to good use. Without prayer, God’s resources and promises remain unclaimed. Consequently, we live unfulfilled and defeated lives.

Victory in our Christian life and success in our Christian service are only possible through constant communion with God. Every child of God living in righteousness and holiness has the incredible privilege to come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Through prayer, we receive strength to withstand all temptations, tensions, and trials. The pressures of each day are beyond what our human frailty can bear. We need the spiritual support that is obtainable only through prayer. Prayer turns difficulty into opportunity and tragedy into triumph. It keeps us afloat as we sail through the storm of this life.

Prayer sustains our faith and strengthens our confidence in God. All that we ask for in prayer must conform to the will of God. Our Chief aim in prayer must be in the spirit of self-sacrifice. Our prayer must not be concentrated on our spiritual, physical or materials needs alone.

We are to intercede as well for the souls of men in the outreaches of the churches, the ministers and worker in God’s vineyard, and the various needs of members of the body of Christ.

“One day Jesus taught the apostles to keep praying and never stop or lose hope. He shared with them this illustration.” Luke 18:1(TPT)

Keep praying and never stop.
