Allow God to Bless You.
“That I will not take from a thread even to a shoe latchet, and that I will not take anything that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich.” Gen. 14:23 (KJV).
Do you sometimes take something from a friend?
Do you envy your friend for having something?
Does it happen that you leave a shop or office with a pen after signing a document by accident?
Do you borrow something from someone with no intention to return it?
Abram had the opportunity to receive valuable goods.
He would have been richer at that instant.
He resisted the opportunity.
Why did he not take anything that was offered to him?
Abram trusted God.
He did not want anybody to have a hold over him.
Someone who could later say he helped Abram.
That person could demand Abram to repay the favor.
“You owe me one.”
Nobody could say that to Abraham.
Can You say that about yourself?
Is there someone who can pull the strings of your life?
Depend entirely on God.
Application to the Christian life:
Trust God to help you.
Do not allow yourself to be in debt of anyone else.
Resist the temptation to sin.
Let God always be your source.
