“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”1 John 4:17.
The reality of life as a true believer in Christ is that we get to experience what he has experienced. The Passion Week that started with Palm Sunday reminds us of how Christ was hailed and before the end of the week he was nailed to the cross.
As believers-as He is so are we.
There will be moments in your life when people will shout hosanna to you and tell you are the Best that has ever happened to them in their life. Don’t let that euphoria fool you those same people when your “week of trial” starts will turn around with a double mouth, accuse you and call for your crucifixion.
This is a reality of life you must face as a true believer as you move into different levels of your life and purposeful assignments.
Thanks be to God who has shown us in Christ Jesus that no matter the trial in life you are going through you will have victory because With God on your side you are an overcomer.
Just as Christ was tempted tested and tried in all the areas of life so also you will be.
Sometimes we wish we don’t have to go through betrayal again because years ago you were a victim of that.
The difference this time is that you are at another level of your assignment in life and now you know you can never put your trust in man again.
There were about 50 items in the checklist for the Old Testament priest to check in the Passover lamb. Jesus Christ was thoroughly examined and tested too.
So when they plot and scheme on you let your anchor in Christ hold very firm, and HE will see you through.
Praise God for you if all your life you have never been betrayed like Christ was, but now you know what to do if that should happen.
As we remember Christ’s passion week this season let’s know that after the Hosanna, the crucifixion and the Resurrection are certain. You will succeed and emerge victorious as Christ did as you believe and obey Him all the way.
“Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:1-2 (KJV)
During one of the training sessions, someone shared how a small irritation came up between him and a very close friend and subsequently kept away from that person.
Before you know, they were not speaking to each other for a day or two, it elongated to weeks, months and till the person passed away, he did not know or hear from that person again. How he wished they had talked over things.
Does this sound familiar?
Around us in the immediate family, extended family and within the body of Christ we Christians find it so easy not to talk to one another for a very little, minor and most of the time insignificant issue to our Master’s given assignment.
The scripture today encourages us to put aside all malice in every form and format they may want to creep in on us.
One of the sermonettes sometimes given by the General Overseer Emeritus, Dr. Gabriel Olusoji Farombi highlights three critical, essential ingredients that make a family and any relationship strong. These words are, Please, I am Sorry and Forgive me.
If we will all use these words in our relationship with each other in all aspects of our relationships malice will virtually find it impossible to have its way near us.
Sometimes offenses come so easily through “friendly fires” from those who are so close to people or us we never expect could hurt us. The enemy of our faith magnifies the problem to us each time we look at the offense and before we even know it had helped us in identifying other camps that support our stand on the malice.
“Beloved ones don’t remain as immature children in your reasoning. As it relates to evil, be like newborns, but in your thinking be mature adults.” 1 Corinthians 14:20 (TPT)
Lets us all tap into the Grace of the forgiveness we have all received from Jesus Christ our Lord and use that Grace to forgive those who have offended us.
Walking in Love and Unity of Faith we will all together achieve much more for the Kingdom of God.
Examine your heart today and make sure there is no malice
And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged; Genesis1:8 (KJV)
And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt. Genesis 29:9 (KJV)
And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her and opened her womb. Genesis 30:22(KJV)
And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah, his wife; and the LORD remembered her. 1 Samuel 1:19 (KJV)
Where are you within these Bible Characters?
The Almighty Faithful God that you serve who has promised you that HE will never leave you nor forsake you is reminding you today that HE Remembers You.
God found Noah faithful to commit HIS rescue plan for mankind at that dispensation to him and throughout the project HE did not abandon him.
Abraham trusted God’s Word, and he started the journey by faith with God, and despite the challenges, God stayed through.
Rachel found herself in circumstances that were not entirely her own making, but the Faithful God remembered her, and her story of barrenness changed.
Hannah decided she was not going to settle for anything less than the fullness of what God has purposed for her life. She pursued God, and God remembered her.
What is your own story?
God who is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever is with you in that situation.
Cast all your care and burden on the author and finisher of your Faith.
“And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged; “ Genesis 8: 1 (KJV)
Are you in a place like Noah today that you have heard from God and carried out all the instructions of what he asked you to do and you seem to be waiting for the next move of God?
Be encouraged like Noah did while in the ark to be focused on God.
Look at the events surrounding all that God has asked you to do.
In the case of Noah, only God that told him to build the ark is the only one that could have caused the animals to fear and obey him to enter into the ark with him.
Granted him favor with his children to follow him and eventually poured out such magnitude of water that has never been seen before to wipe out everything else except those in the Ark.
You also can relate to some milestones in your life that nobody else but God could have caused them to happen.
“ Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
Don’t be distracted like Peter who was bold enough to step out of the boat and walk on the waters but allowed the storms to make him lose focus.
He was just an arms reach away from the Lord when he took his eyes off and started sinking.
Mercifully God reached out to him.
Remember it was a covenant relationship God had with Noah as long as Noah did his part God bound by HIS word performed His side of the bargain.
You can put your name in place of Noah and say God remembers Adewumi.
Surely God has not forgotten you, remain faithful to the covenant you have with God.
“You shall not hate your brother in your heart; but you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take revenge or bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.” Leviticus 19:17-18 (AMPC)
When last did you speak the truth to your neighbor telling him or her the truth in love?
Today most of us keep quiet and mind our own business.
Yes, we don’t wont to interfere with anybody business.
However, God commands us to work and live in love with everybody.
The pure love of God in your heart encourages you to speak the truth to your neighbor.
“Don’t secretly hate your neighbor. If you have something against him, get it out into the open; otherwise, you are an accomplice in his guilt.
“Don’t seek revenge or carry a grudge against any of your people.
“Love your neighbor as yourself. I am God.” Leviticus 19:17-18
The consequences of not speaking the truth to your neighbor are that you not only partake in the sin, but that sin would eventually engulf the whole community as a result of your pretense that you did not see what is going on.
There used to be an adage of speaking the truth “no matter whose ox is gored.”
People have stopped talking the truth in situations they have seen as a result of fear.
God has not given you a spirit to fear but of love, courage and sound mind.
“For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.[ So never be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor be embarrassed over my imprisonment, but overcome every evil by the revelation of the power of God! “ 2 Timothy 1:7-10 (TPT)
Again you may want to ask who the neighbor that I need to speak the truth to is?
The Bible is clear on who your brother or neighbor is.
“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24 (KJV)
God promises that before you even finish praying HE will answer you.
It is real and true if you believe it.
Remember the Shunammite woman that Elisha ministered to?
“And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.” 2 Kings 8:5-7
She got her answer right there in the King’s presence before she finished speaking.
Another instance was when “Elisha said, Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: Tomorrow about this time a measure of fine flour will sell for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel in the gate of Samaria! “ 2 Kings 7:1
It happened exactly so. They called God answered.
Blind Bartimaeus also got his answer quickly too.
“And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.” Mark 10:51-52
