When Conflict Wants to Arise.
“And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.”
Genesis 13:8 (KJV.)
Abraham was called by God to go out from his father’s house to a place that God would show him.
Abraham went, but he took his nephew Lot with him.
At one point, because of the small space and the big herds, there appeared to be conflicts between their servants.
Think about the circumstances: Abraham was the man chosen by God and was also the Israelites’ first patriarch.
He was the one with the tremendous promise from God. (Genesis 12:3 KJV)
Abraham:
Chose grace instead of the law.
Humility instead of pride.
Giving up instead of keeping his rights.
Mercy instead of justice.
Love instead of lust.
Character instead of popular opinion. Abraham’s priority was his family, but Lot’s priority was enrichment:
Abraham was led by faith, Lot was led by greed.
Abraham was generous. Lot was the one who always liked to receive.
How did the story end?
What happened?
The young man should have patiently submitted to Abraham.
Abraham did not take advantage of Lot.
He allowed God to direct him.
“And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thous seest, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed for ever.” Genesis 13:14-15 (KJV) When you get into a conflict, be like Abraham.
Ask God for directions.
He will show you a peaceful and prosperous way out.
Application for the Christian life:
Depend on God.
Resist conflict.
Allow God to make the decisions.

Who can be against you?
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be with us, who can be against us?” Rom. 8:31.(KJV).
Many people persecute God’s children.
They use different methods.
In some situations, Christians are put into jail because of their faith…
Sometimes they are killed.
Others are not so vicious.
They make life difficult in a subtle way. Others just mock you.
Whatever the situation may be:
God remains in command.
He may allow things to happen.
You may not understand the reason.
It is not for you to initially understand the ways of God.
He has the complete and total picture.
Know that God chose you to inherit His Kingdom.
It does not matter how it will happen.
At the end :
You will come out victorious.
Can you trust God?
Application to the Christian life:
Trust God.
Allow Him to guide you.
Do not fear those against God.

The Inner Person.
“But let the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” 1 Peter 3:4. (KJV).
How much time do you spend in the morning in front of a mirror before going to work?
Do you enjoy cleaning the house before receiving visitors?
Why do you do that if you do not enjoy doing it?
How much money do you spend to impress people?
Are you friendly with people?
Why?
What do you do or say behind their back?
How pure is your heart?
Do you honor your mother and father? Are you gentle and kind towards other people?
Are you obedient?
Do you help others in need?
This is of great value to God.
Does your life daily add value to God?
Application to the Christian life:
What is in your inner life?
Only God sees it.
Make sure it is acceptable to Him.

Speaking With Grace.
“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.” (Proverbs 15:4 ) KJV
“If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. (James 1:26) KJV
Words have a tremendous amount of power.
We often don’t realize this.
It’s effortless to offend someone with words.
This is worse than physical pain.
How can we control the negative tendency in using our tongue?
Be a person who encourages others. Your words can help a hopeless person. The person who encourages others is used by God on the front line against desperation and depression.
Tell the truth with love.
It’s not enough just to know the truth. It’s not enough just to tell the truth.
The real wisdom is to tell it with love. You can quickly destroy others by telling the truth.
This doesn’t mean you should not tell the truth.
It means you should tell it with love. For this, you definitely need to ask God for guidance.
Ask God always to give you the right words. (Proverbs 10:32)
How do you know that the person you speak with will listen to what you say? Let God guide you.
Let your words be like a fountain of life: “The law of the wise is a fountain of life.” Proverbs 13:14a (KJV)
Who will be blessed today by your encouragement?
Speak wisely.
Application for the Christian life:
Give advice inspired by the Holy Spirit. Ask Jesus to guide you before you speak.
Do not use idle words.

Help Your Friend In Need.
“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Gal.6:2. (KJV).
What did you do when your friend tripped and fell?
Did you help him get up?
Why did you help him?
Did you really help him?
Could he not get up by himself?
They say a friend in need is a friend indeed.
What “need” are they talking about?
Did you help your friend when he was despondent?
Did you help him when he was sick? Did you help him with his financial problems?
Maybe you did not give him money, but did you give moral support?
Can you help your friend carry his burden?
“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Matthew 25:40 (KJV)
Do something today that would help meet a need.
Let someone meet God through you.
Be an advertisement of His today.
