Hear The Voice Of The Lord.

Hear The Voice Of The Lord.
“Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord: for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.” 1 Sam.3:9.(KJV).
Do you hear the voice of God?
Samuel was young when he heard God’s voice for the first time.
He did not know it was God’s calling.
Eli had to teach him to recognize the voice of the Lord. Eli also had to teach him how to respond to the call of the Lord.
Did you learn to recognize the call of the Lord?
Where will you find Him?
You will first learn to recognize His voice in His Word.
“If you really knew God, you would listen, receive, and respond with faith to his words. But since you don’t listen and respond to what he says, it proves you don’t belong to him and you have no room for him in your hearts.”
John 8:47 (TPT)
Once you recognize His voice:
You will hear him in everything you do.
Allow God to speak to you.
HE speaks through the Holy Spirit.
Respond to Him.
Application to the Christian life:
Learn to recognize God’s voice.
Listen carefully to hear Him.
Listen and obey Him.

Exodus 33:2.(KJV).

God says He will never leave you nor forsake you.

He promised He would prepare a place for you in His Kingdom.

Here on earth, He promised you Dominion.

God knows the danger on the way.

Even though He did not take away all the obstacles.

He made the journey possible for the Israelites.

They still had to battle against the other nations.

God gave them victory every time.

God knows the way to your purposeful life.

He makes it possible for you to reach the goal.

He will send an angel to prepare the way.

Daily ask Him for guidance.

The Holy Spirit will guide you.

*** Feedback Question.
“Why would God allow the old prophet to deceive the young prophet and use the same prophet to pass judgment on the young prophet?”

The Answer.

“And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the Lord came unto the prophet that brought him back: And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the Lord, and hast not kept the commandment which the Lord thy God commanded thee, “1 Kings 13:20-21 (KJV)
It emphasizes hearing from God directly based on His Word.
Whatever voice we hear from God must be established by His Written Word.
God instructed the young prophet directly to leave his own town, go to Judah, and do some specific assignments:
Prophesy to the altar.
Don’t eat or drink.
Return through a specific route.
God would have promoted and rewarded him if he had followed the instructions.
Suppose he heard all these instructions from God directly and heard it clearly that he could repeat them to the King (remember, he turned down the King’s offer of gifts) So when the old prophet emerged. In that case, the best he could have done out of respect for the old prophet was to tell the old prophet to wait and let him ask God again. (God, is it you that send these new instructions?) God would have answered him and said No, or God would keep quiet.
Sometimes, when God has spoken clearly, He does not often speak when we doubt Him or second-guess Him. In any case, when he prayed to God to restore the withered hand of the King, God heard him and restored the King’s hand. So he could have asked God about the new information from the old prophet. The fact that the old prophet could lie and speak for God with the same mouth confirms 2 scriptural principles.

  1. Test every spirit.
  2. God’s gifts are without repentance.
That is, don’t take everyone at face value.
Backsliders can prophesy and do miracles.
    Check with the Holy Spirit.
Know No man after the flesh.
Again, the young prophet could have cried to God in genuine repentance.
After all, he just interceded for the King.
It was the Destiny of the young prophet that was at stake.

The Lord Shut him in.

The Lord Shut him in.
“And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.” Gen. 7:16 (KJV).
How have you fared as parents?
Very Well?.
Has there ever been a situation where you have to shut the children in?
Possibly lock the door?
As a child, do you sometimes feel like running away from home?
Did you sometimes feel like running away?
Why?
We do not want to run away when we stay in a home filled with peace and security.
We are happy and safe to be with them.
When our parents do something we do not like, we sometimes want to run away.
“More freedom outside,” we sometimes think.
God commanded Noah to build the ark according to specific measurements. Indeed, Noah had his thoughts about it.
He probably encountered many obstacles.
But he persevered.
God locked the door when it started to rain.
He did not ask Noah to lock the door.
The Lord Shut him in.
Why did God lock the door? He made sure nobody would leave the ark.
God knew what would happen.
God knew the thoughts of humans and animals.
They possibly would have loved to step out and explore!!!
The rain never fell before.
Humans and animals have never coexisted in that limited space before.
However, God kept them safe inside and protected them from the unknown danger outside.
Until everything was safe.
Do you feel like being locked in right now?
God sees both inside and also knows what is going on outside.
Trust Him.
He kept everyone safe.
Stay In The Safety Of God. Application to the Christian life:
Let God keep you safe.
Your head knowledge is limited.
Stay in the safety of His commands.
Serve Him.
Trust Him.

Betrayed By Brothers.

Betrayed By Brothers.
“Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.” Gen. 37:27. (KJV).
Joseph was sold to the Ishmaelites by his brothers.
How terrible can people be?
Do brothers and friends sometimes betray you?
Do you get the guilt for something they did?
Sometimes they promise something:
Then they renege on it.
You feel you have been “dropped.”
Do you realize that God allowed the brothers of Joseph to do that terrible thing for a purpose?
Joseph had to be second in charge in Egypt to save many lives.
Many people would have starved of hunger if it were not for Joseph.
Sometimes certain things must happen to push you to your destiny.
It does not always line up as you expect.
When it happens.
“The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered,”
Trust God to guide you through.
God is with you in these situations too.
Application to the Christian life:
Trust God to guide you through life.
Do not get despondent under challenging times.
Keep on following Jesus.
He leads the way.
