Am I in place of God?

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in place of God?

Genesis 50:19  (KJV)

After the death of Israel, the brothers came to Joseph telling him that their father had asked him to forgive them. Joseph knew it was a makeup story and it really pained him that his brothers did not fully trust him. In reassuring them, Joseph uttered the core statement in our text today Am I in place of God?  Vengeance is His, not mine.

How are you handling the mistreatment people have given to you?

The life of Joseph again reminds all of us that whatever inhumanity and all manner of abuse your fellow brethren had inflicted on you, please be Gracious like him and forgive.

Joseph’s forgiveness of his brothers points us to the perfect love that Jesus had for us that makes him go all the way to Calvary for us.

Today as you reflect on your life’s assignments and remember all the injustice and unfairness that you have met along the way remember Joseph was able to release his brothers, Potiphar’s wife and many others who had hurt him along the way unto God’s hand.

Please don’t play God in whatever situation you may want to act out.

Remember its only God that has the complete and total picture from all perspective to that mater that you feel really pained about.

Let him handle the situation.

Release that person that has hurt you to God.

Whatever man has done to you find Grace like Joseph and much more Grace in Christ Jesus to let vengeance be God. Then you will see God work all these things together for good for you to His Glory and the Blessings will be yours…

“Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid. Do I act for God? Don’t you see, you planned evil against me, but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now—life for many people. Easy now, you have nothing to fear; I’ll take care of you and your children.” He reassured them, speaking with them heart-to-heart.” Genesis 50:19-21 (MSG)
