“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:” John 17:21-22 KJV
“An old man on the point of death summoned his sons around him to give them some parting advice. He ordered them to bring in a bundle of sticks, and said to his eldest son: “Break it.” The son strained and strained, but with all his efforts was unable to break the bundle. The other sons also tried, but none succeeded. “Untie the bundle,” said the father, “and each of you takes a stick.” When they had done so, he told them: “Now, break,” and each stick was easily and quickly broken.”
Almost every culture has their versions of the above story of the old man and his sons emphasizing unity among them. Jesus much more wanted that HIS disciples are also one and operate in love. Determine today to be the unifying factor in any group you belong.
It’s so easy to see the faults, the lapses in every other person except yourself.
As we start this New Year resolve to be the rallying point rather than the scattering point in your place of assignment. Most of us know the acronym TEAM means Together Everyone Achieve More.
Look out for the strengths, the good things in other people and with love correct their weakness rather than gossip them all over.
Your unit, home, family, fellowship, group, the church will achieve much more if we all live in love and allow the prayers of our Lord Jesus Christ be answered as we are one.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them, which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now, this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?” 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 KJV
Walk in love and seek for unity.
