Where is the honor due me? Where is the respect due me?” says the LORD Almighty.

“A son honors his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says the LORD Almighty.

“It is you priests who show contempt for my name.

But you ask, ‘How have we shown contempt for your name?’” — Malachi 1:6

Years ago there was a song with the question “how do you treat God? Like a GOD or dog. “

The scriptures above are asking us the question too about how we treat God.

Do we honor and respect Him?

Whether you relate to Him as a Father or Master should be evident in how you represent and talk about Him.

How do you handle the business that He has committed to your hands?

We who claim to know God have to examine how we treat Him carefully.

Are you giving Him the deserving honor in all your conversations about Him to the people?

Remember Moses. He was so to close God that he sought a face-to-face audience with God but when it came to carrying out God’s instructions to the last letter he missed it due to the provocation of the people.

“ The fear and love required by God of his children are that reverence which loveth to serve Him, and that love which dreadeth to offend Him.”

Herod, on the other hand, took all the glory that the people ascribed to him without acknowledging God and instantly worms ate him up.

How are you honoring and respecting God with the totality of your life?

Even though Malachi emphasizes giving your money to God. Please understand that giving to HIM must come from a heart that truly loves, honor and worship at all times.

As His chosen ambassador how are you representing Him?

Where is the honor due me? Where is the respect due me?” says the LORD Almighty.

Had Not the God of My Father
