In thy name done many wonderful works?
“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matt. 7:22(KJV).
How do you talk to your friends when you tell them about Jesus?
Do you want them to see how much you know?
Do you want them to see what a wonderful person you are?
Don’t get carried away with your wonderful works.
Are you doing them according to God’s command?
What is your motive for doing them?
“Then he said to them, “You like to appear righteous in public, but God knows your hearts. What this world honors is detestable in the sight of God.”
Luke 16:15(NLT)
It is not your Wonderful works that God sees.
God expects obedience.
He expects us to follow Him.
God told Moses to talk to the rock to give water.
Moses was upset because of the people’s behavior.
He hit the rock.
Did the water come out?
Yes.
Was he obedient?
Did he do it the way God told him to do it?
No. ( Numbers 20:12. KJV).
The result was according to the word of God.
However, Moses never entered the promised land.
Jesus obeyed God in all things.
Jesus sought to please God in all His works.
Don’t do stuff to please impress and please people.
Let your wonderful works come from God.
