The Tragedy of Laziness.

The Tragedy of Laziness.
“His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed.” (Matthew 25:26) KJV
It is one of the well-known parables in the Bible.
We know the story; we know how it applies to us.
We know that Jesus gave us talents.
He wants us to put them to use in ministry for Him.
Did you ever think about that last servant?
The servant who went and dug the talent in the ground?
This warns us about the tragedy of laziness.
He was described as “wicked and slothful.”
His perception of the giver was wrong and faulty.
He lost big time.
What?
He lost his time.
He went and dug the talent in the ground.
That’s work too.
Its’ time-wasting.
Putting time and energy in the wrong direction.
We all equally have 24 hours.
What are you doing with the time He is giving you?
He lost his purpose.
He hid the talent; our talents are not to be hidden.
We need to use our talents for God’s glory.
He lost his talent.
God gave him a talent, but because he didn’t use it.
God took it from him and gave it to another person.
He lost his reward.
God is looking forward to rewarding those working for Him.
There are rewards for the things God asks you to do.
Can you see it?
What can you say about yourself?
Application to the Christian life:
Appreciate the talents God gave you
Develop them to the full.
You can be twice as talented as when you started.
Talents you don’t use will rot.
Work hard and be strong.
