The wisdom of their righteous fathers

The wisdom of their righteous fathers
” He will be instrumental in turning the fathers’ hearts in tenderness back to their children and the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of their righteous fathers. And he will prepare a united people who are ready for the Lord’s appearing.” Luke 1:17
We salute fathers whose lives had impacted their children’s relationship back to God.
Fathers who, by their personal daily choices, let their kids accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Fathers who always stand by their children no matter what.
Making the lives of their children much better than their own lives
.
In Judges 6, we learn how Joash used his God-given wisdom to defend his son Gideon in answering the call of God upon his life.
“That same day, Joash changed Gideon’s name to Jerubbaal, explaining, “He tore down Baal’s altar, so let Baal take revenge himself.” Judges 6:32
Can you use God’s wisdom to defend, protect, and guide your children in the way of God?
Don’t sacrifice your children to continue the generational bondage that has existed in your lineage.
Don’t make the mistakes of Eli, Manasseh, and Ahaz, who did not handle their children’s well.
Support the change to righteousness, as Joash did.
Jehonadab was another father that not only supported his children but gave instruction that became a legacy in their family.
We first saw him in 2 Kings 10, where he joined hands with Jehu to destroy the wicked family of Ahab. (2 Kings 10:15-16)
Jonadab gave commands to his sons, they obeyed him, and his commandments were handed down to the next generation.
“But they said, We will drink no wine, for Jonadab son of Rechab, our father, commanded us: You shall not drink wine, neither you nor your sons, forever.” Jeremiah 35:6(AMPC)
Fathers, what legacy are you giving your children?.
A general survey summed up children’s perception of fathers like this:
“DAD OVER THE YEARS
4 YEARS: My Daddy can do anything.
8 YEARS: Dad doesn’t know
12 YEARS: Oh, well, naturally, Father doesn’t understand.
14 YEARS: Father? Hopelessly old-fashioned
21 YEARS: Oh, that man is out of date; what would you expect.
25 YEARS: He comes up with a good idea now and then.
30 YEARS: Must find out what Dad thinks about it.
35 YEARS: A little patience–let’s get Dad’s input first
50 YEARS: What would Dad have thought about that?
60 YEARS: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more.”

Be there for them in all these phases of their lives.
The Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob used their God-given wisdom to turn their generations on the path of righteousness as God revealed to them.
God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, reveals to Fathers now how to use their wisdom to guide their children to the path of a purposeful and fulfilling life.
Even if your father did not correctly raise you, you could learn from the Almighty God, who made Abraham righteous because he believed in him to make you an honest father.
Simply have faith in him as Abraham did.
No matter your past, he will not reject you, and its never too late for God to make you over.
As long as you are alive, you can add value to your children’s lives.
Happy Fathers Day.
