What about Matthias?

by | Sep 22, 2017

“They nominated two: Joseph Barsabbas, nicknamed Justus, and Matthias. Then they prayed, “You, O God, know every one of us inside and out. Make plain which of these two men you choose to take the place in this ministry and leadership that Judas threw away in order to go his own way.” They then drew straws. Matthias won and was counted in with the eleven apostles.”  Act 1 :23-26

What really became of Matthias the apostle chosen by 11 remaining apostles to replace Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus? Many theological questions had always come up on these subjects that are not bible based hence we will not enumerate them here. However we know that the procedure of his selection by the other Apostles was a valid procedure as at the time he was chosen.

The challenge to us today is not to become another Matthias that will fizzle out.
You have a preordained destiny for your life.
Don’t just start your purposeful life and drop out of life and nothing is heard about you again.
You have been called to fulfill a God given destiny.
No matter the challenges you may be facing determine to leave a legacy .
You have all what it takes to succeed inside of you.

Fight the good fight of faith like Apostle Paul did and challenged Timothy to also do.
“But you, Timothy, man of God: Run for your life from all this. Pursue a righteous life—a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:11-12

Raise the bar today and don’t let history classify you as a Matthias that had a lot of witnesses as he commenced but nothing concrete thereafter.
Live a life of legacy that will Glorify God and benefit mankind.
You are not an ordinary person.
You are created in the image of God and please don’t give up.
You are not too old and it’s never too late.
