Who can be against you?
What shall we then say to these things? If God be with us, who can be against us? Rom. 8:31.(KJV).
Many people are persecuting the children of God.
They use different methods.
In some situations, Christians are put into trouble using flimsy excuses.
In some places, they are even jailed because of their faith
Sometimes they are even killed.
Other forms of persecution are not so obvious.
They make life difficult in subtle ways.
Others just mock you.
Whatever the situation may be, God remains True and Faithful.
He may allow things to happen.
You may not understand the reason.
At the moment, it may be difficult for you to understand the ways of God.
What you should know is that God chose you to inherit His Kingdom.
He ultimately has the final say.
What form of persecution are you facing?
Can you trust God?
Pray and encourage other Christians not to give up.
Application to the Christian life:
Trust God.
Allow Him to guide you.
Do not fear those against God.
God is with you.

But the way you are doing it will bring you no glory.
“Barak answered her: “If you go with me, I’ll go; but if you won’t go with me, I won’t go.” She replied, “Yes, I will gladly go with you, but the way you are doing it will bring you no glory; because Adonai will hand Sisra over to a woman.” Then D’vorah set out and went with Barak to Kedesh.” Judges 4:8-9(CJB)
“Barak told her, “I will go, but only if you go with me.” “Very well,” she replied, “I will go with you. But you will receive no honor in this venture, for the Lord’s victory over Sisera will be at the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.”

In what way are you doing God’s assignment.
Deborah accurately conveyed to Barak God’s detailed instructions. (Judges 4:1-7)
However, out of fear of stepping out alone with God
He requested that Deborah physically come with him into the battlefield.
There are some victories God already gave you.
Somehow rather than step put in faith to do it
You are going about it the way you feel more comfortable.
Instead, trust the Almighty God to make him win the battle.
Barak wanted some physical reassurance.
What assignment has God given you to do?
Do it according to the instructions HE has given you.
That way, the honor and the blessings in the package will be yours.
How wonderful would it have been:
If Zachariah had completely believed Angel Gabriel. (Luke 1:8-9)
Many years ago, I heard an old preacher prayed that :
“May God not put but, in your story,”
Then I asked what he meant.
He told me that whenever they are telling your story and they use the word “but.”
It means there is a comma in your story.
What is a comma?
He said that implied things are not straightforward about you.
Please be genuine in your relationship with God.

Each new generation would have to learn by fighting.
“And the Lord had another reason for letting these enemies stay. The Israelites needed to learn how to fight in war, just as their ancestors had done. Each new generation would have to learn by fighting”

You possibly have learned the truth about how the butterfly emerges.
From the caterpillar stage to the beautiful butterfly:
That You see and admire!!!
It has to break its cocoon by itself.
Any attempt by man to help it skip that stage deforms the butterfly.
God has given man dominion.
The dominion is, however, through obedience to God.
God always gives the blueprint on how to conquer, reign and rule.
The Bible says it only those that overcome that will be honored in heaven.
“The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.”
Revelations 3:21(ESV)
We live in an age where Christians are taught to merely confess and possess their possessions.
However, the pathway of the Cross through Christ Jesus involves overcoming.
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If you truly want to follow me, you should at once completely reject and disown your own life. And you must be willing to share my cross and experience it as your own, as you continually surrender to my ways.” Matthew 16:24(TPT)
We have to correctly teach that Christianity is not bread and butter.
True, Jesus Christ paid it all.
You don’t fight in your own strength or with your own made weapons.
God, through obedience to His Words, has provided all that.
Tests will come your way on every God-given assignment.
With total dependence on God, you emerge victoriously.
Let’s raise disciples with the Biblical truth.
Challenges will come but with God on their side.
They emerge victorious like Christ did.
What are you teaching the next generation.?
Each new generation would have to learn by fighting.

Trust in The Lord.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5. (KJV).
Where did you go for comfort when you were young?
Did you ask your parents for advice when you had a problem?
Do you still go to them?
When a person grows older, you trust your own abilities.
You do not ask for help anymore.
In the Bible, we can see the help God gave those who trusted Him.
We also see the difference when somebody did not follow God. Ultimately, we cannot do anything without the help of God.
God is the One deciding what we can do or what we cannot do.
You can not outgrow your dependence on God.
Do you think you can do something without the help of God?
Application to the Christian life:
Be humble and trust God to help you.
Ask His blessings.
Trust Him in all that you do.

I will still serve the LORD.”
“But if you don’t want to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Even if you choose the gods your ancestors served on the other side of the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live, my family and I will still serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15(GW)
Life is about making choices.
Daily what informs the choices you make?
It’s not about what others are doing.
It is about what You choose to do.
Joshua, in our text today, was aware of what was going on around him.
However, he personally chose to serve God.
Be conscious that in everything that you do
You are either serving God or the devil.
There is no neutral ground.
When you speak, or you are silent, who are you serving?
Whose desires are you doing?
“And I have come out of heaven not for my own desires, but for the satisfaction of my Father who sent me.” John 6:38 (TPT)
Jesus’s satisfaction is about the satisfaction of His Father.
Whose satisfaction are you really after?
It is not only about you.
Joshua said, my family and I will serve the Lord.
Who are you influencing your family to serve?
When Paul offered Jesus to the jailer:
It was for him and his family.
“They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and all your family.” Acts 16:31(TPT)
Earlier, Cornelius used his influence to gather his family to hear the Good news (Acts 10)
Again, who are you serving?
Today as I am opportune to be blessed with:
Another Glorious year to my purposeful life
I boldly say:
As for my family and me, we’ll worship GOD.

I was overjoyed when they said…
“I was overjoyed when they said, “Let’s go up to the house of the Lord.” And now, at last, we stand here, inside the very gates of Jerusalem! O Jerusalem, you were built as a city of praise, where God and man mingle together. This is where all the tribes of Yahweh are required to come and worship him. This is where the thrones of kings have been established to rule in righteousness; even King David ruled from here.”

Do you still have that radiating joy in you at all times?
Especially when it comes to joining others to Worship God in His House.
Whether you join by internet or you are physically there:
Are you still overjoyed with the opportunity of worshiping God with others?
Worshiping God with others should not be a routine.
Neither should you be sad because you don’t have something good to wear.
Going to the house of the Lord is not a fashion show.
Indeed, it also not for your fleshy entertainment.
Not where to go and learn or show off your latest:
Latest dress
Latest dance steps
Latest car.
Hear what the man after God’s own heart say it is for:
A place of Praise to the Almighty God.
A place where God and man mingle together.
A sacred Place
A Holy Place.
Jesus in His time drove out those who were buying and selling in the temple.
Today some have made it their business to conduct :
Their personal business right during worship time.
They hardly participate in corporate prayers and worship.
Their eyes are on what time is because they want to sell their products to their brethren.
They easily criticize the Pastor for preaching “too long.”
The place of corporate fellowship is a place about God and God alone being glorified.
It is a place where the Kingdom’s mandate is renewed and strengthened.
Anything outside what God has purposed it to drain out that joy.
Today what is your real motive in going to the house of the Lord ?.
