Fellow Citizens With The Saints.

Fellow Citizens With The Saints.
“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.” Eph.2:19.(KJV).
Are you and your friends from the same household?
Why not?
Because you have different parents and stay in different homes.
What happens if you and your friends move into the same home?.
Then you become housemates.
Will it be possible to live with your friends?
Yes, if you all keep the house rules.
You must have house rules to guide.
It will only be possible if you work together.
It is important to respect one another.
You cannot work together if you do not understand each other.
To be in the household of God, you need to follow His rules.
Are you keeping to the house rules in the family of God?
Are you in harmony with other believers?
You must obey Him as your Father.
You must work together with your fellow Christians.
Love one another.
Can you be part of the household of God?
Jesus summed up the house rules in the kingdom.
“Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV)
As Fellow Citizens, are you keeping to the house rules?
Application to the Christian life:
Submit to God and obey Him.
Love your neighbor as thyself.

Be a Vessel for God.

Be a Vessel for God.
“But we have a treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
2 Cor. 4:7. (KJV).
Do you want to do unique things?
Would you like to save the world?
Do you have the energy to do such things?
To achieve such feats, you need the strength of God.
Paul indeed achieved extraordinary things.
His secret:
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13
David the Great Warrior King also knew this.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song, I praise him.” Psalm28:7(NIV)
You can serve God in His work.
When you do something for God:
Do not do it for fame or money.
Let the Glory of God be your Focus.
You are an earthen vessel.
You can break.
Do whatever you do with the power of God.
Do everything you do to honor God.
You can encourage your friends.
You can comfort them.
You can guide them.
Do you want to be a vessel for God?
Application to the Christian life:
Be a vessel for God.
Do everything to His honor.
Praise God.

A New Heaven and Earth.

A New Heaven and Earth.
“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:13. (KJV).
Sin did not come from God.
There is no sin where God is.
We want to live in His Kingdom here on earth and ultimately make it to Heaven.
As His Ambassadors here in this world, we should be like Him as we represent Him.
He Can not lie.
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19(KJV)
While it is great to claim this as a promise that God can not lie about anything He has promised you.
For what He says will undoubtedly come to pass.
However, as a person, we ask again, do you lie?
When last did you do something unfair to your friend?
When last did you lie?
Did you tell “just a little white lie” to get you out of trouble?
Perhaps you blamed your friend for something he did not do.
The one condition to enter the Kingdom of God is righteousness.
Without being righteous, you will not be allowed into His Kingdom.
The Grace to be righteous and not lie is given to you through our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
By Faith as you walk daily in Him.
Allow the Holy Spirit to enable you to live a life without lying.
Do you want to make it to Heaven when your assignment on earth is over?
Stop lying.
Application to the Christian life:
Don’t be afraid.
Speak the truth.
Receive His Grace to become righteous.

In the name of the Lord…

In the name of the Lord…
“Then said David to the philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.” 1 Sam.17:45. (KJV).
David could not stand God being mocked.
Even though he was relatively young and small in stature compared to Goliath.
You do not have to be big and strong to serve God.
God needs a willing and trusting heart.
Are you comfortable where God is being mocked?
Can God rely on you to do His work?
Do you trust God to help you in your daily life?
Do you fear the onslaughts of daily life?
David could not understand why the strong soldiers of the Israelites were so scared of Goliath.
He could not understand why they allowed Goliath to defy God.
Will you be too scared to defend your faith in God?
When you stand up for God, He will defend His name through you.
“Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, “This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ saith the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6
Application to the Christian life:
Be prepared to stand up for Jesus.
Be strong in faith to withstand mockery. Be a soldier for God.
He will protect and bless you.

How do you apply the Word of God?

How do you apply the Word of God?
“Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” Mark 7:13. (KJV).
How do you handle the Word?
It comes with insight into what to do.
However, what it is asking you to do may appear conflicting.
That was the problem the Pharisees had.
TRADITION.
Do you have the same challenge today?
How often do you discuss the Word of God with your friends?
Do you always agree with the interpretation of each other?
You sometimes find it challenging to apply God’s Word in your daily life.
Do you find specific things interfere with your own ideas?
Be careful to adapt God’s Word to suit your own beliefs.
When Jesus came to this world, He changed everything, even certain things the Pharisees believed.
They stayed glued to Tradition.
Do not change the words of Jesus.
It is the Living Word.
It is still applicable today.
Instead, you align your life with the Word.
Application to the Christian life:
Obey the Word.
Do not follow your own mind.
Follow Jesus All the way…
